Collection and Drop-off
We’ll collect you directly from your ship at Dún Laoghaire Cruise Terminal or place of stay in the City centre, and ensure you return in good time for embarkation. No stress, no crowds – just your own private Irish journey.
Loughcrew Cairns – The Soul of the Megalithic Age
Perched atop a sweeping hill with 360° views over five counties, the Loughcrew Cairns (also known as Slieve na Calliagh) are some of Ireland’s oldest and most sacred monuments – even older than the Pyramids. Cairn T, the central tomb, dates back over 5,000 years and is aligned with the rising sun during the equinox, illuminating its chamber with mystical precision.
Inside the passage tomb, you’ll find rare megalithic art carved into the stones – spiral motifs, suns, and cosmic symbols that hint at a complex spiritual world. Unlike Newgrange, Loughcrew offers a quiet, uncrowded experience, where you can stand alone with the stones and feel the ancient presence that still lingers here.
The short hike to the summit is well worth it – not just for the archaeological marvel, but for the panoramic views that make it one of the most spectacular spots in the Boyne Valley.

As with all our private tours, your route can be customized along the way. Here are some example stops we often include on the return leg, depending on your preferences and cruise schedule:

Fore Abbey – A serene medieval monastic site nestled in a peaceful valley, known for its “Seven Wonders” and beautiful ruins.
Hill of Tara – Seat of the High Kings of Ireland and a powerful spiritual site with views across the Boyne Valley.
Bective Abbey – Atmospheric Cistercian ruins ideal for photography and a quick wander.
Loughcrew Gardens & Coffee Stop – Optional visit to the 17th-century gardens nearby, with a tearoom for refreshments.
Slane Castle & Distillery – For those with a taste for whiskey or rock history, this makes a perfect last stop.
Your guide will work with you on the day to adjust the route as needed to make the most of your time.

Friendly company. Amazing tours. Beautiful Ireland.
We had a lovely day exploring Newgrange and the Hill of Slaine with Noel yesterday. Highly recommend! Noel and Touristy were a pleasure to work with. Especially enjoyed touring the monastery ruins at the Hill of Slain, we had the place all to ourselves."

"Alan Bradley From Touristy Ireland was my tourist guide and taxi driver. Made getting around so much easier to use taxi lanes and parking places. I saw all the highlights and visited so many places in an 8 hour span. Really felt like I got to know and experience Dublin. Alan is extremely knowledgeable about Ireland’s history and the people that formed Ireland. I highly recommend him to be your friendly and knowledgeable Irish Tour Guide!!"
