Captured between the Wicklow and Blackstairs Mountains, the mature estate of the Wolseley family provided the inspiration for Christy O’Connor Jnr, who designed this challenging parkland golf course. Demanding approach shots are required to most greens.The visual delights of this magnificent setting are many. Just a few hundred yards from the banks of the meandering River Slaney, its rich population of mature trees, its lakes, all set against a backdrop of the haunting splendour of the mountains of east Carlow and Wicklow. Also on site, there are 28 four-star holiday homes, which are available to rent all year round. There is also a 20 metre indoor swimming pool. Vast extensions to the hotel will further enhance people’s stay.
